Due to its location, Los Caños de Meca is the cradle of water sports, among other activities. Throughout the year we can see kite-surfing kites painting the sky, people combing waves on the beach next to the Trafalgar Lighthouse, the occasional paddle-surfing enthusiast and a few floating buoys that alert that there is a diver in that place swimming among rocks and corals or fishing. In addition to this, many people opt for more dry sports such as cycling, walking or running through the natural park of La Breña, or yoga in one of the small studios that offer classes in the area.
Los Caños de Meca enjoys an enviable gastronomy, exquisite products and some establishments where you can find the best vegan dishes made with local organic products. From restaurants where you can enjoy delicious fish from the bay to small places where the main dish is breakfast and its elaborations do not leave anyone indifferent. In addition, most of the establishments where you can enjoy a great lunch, have great views of the sea.
Los Caños de Meca has multiple options when choosing which beach to visit depending on the needs of the bather. From small private coves where you can spend a day at the beach in total tranquility and sheltered from the wind, to larger and more crowded areas where we can find a greater number of families or large groups. At the foot of the Natural Park of La Breña, we have La Playa de los Castillejos, a virgin area in an enclave surrounded by beautiful nature. Note that this beach is one of the best known nudist beaches in the area. Closer to the village, attached to the Playa de Los Castillejos, are La Cala de La Pequeña Lulu, La Playa de la Ventana and some other tiny cove where you can spend the hours of low tide enjoying an almost private beach for those who arrive first as the maximum capacity is this beach rarely touches the double digits. Continuing along the coast, we find the main beach of Los Caños de Meca: La Playa del Pirata. A family beach located in the center of the "urbe". This beach has the occasional beach bar and, to highlight, the well-known Jaima La Meccarola. Finally, we have the area of the Trafalgar Lighthouse or Marisucia Beach which is reached by the deviation in front of the mini golf course that leads to the lighthouse itself. In this area, in addition to a perfect beach to spend a quiet Sunday, we have some beach bars where you can enjoy live music and the best atmosphere. In addition, the sunset from El Faro Trafalgar is a must.
